Site work & restoration planning

Stump Removal & Grinding

Plan beyond the stump. Define access, removal scope and what the space needs to become.

Define the work

The next use of the space shapes the scope.

Peachtree helps Atlanta property owners coordinate stump removal and grinding as a defined part of site care. Share whether the area will become lawn, planting space, a path or part of a larger project so the proposed work addresses the intended finish.

What to plan for

Three priorities for a clear scope.

01

Access

Confirm gate openings, slopes, nearby surfaces and the route equipment can use.

02

Below ground

Identify known irrigation and other private systems, and agree on the required utility-location process before work.

03

The finished area

Specify how grindings, backfill and surface restoration will be handled. Do not assume these are automatically included.

From request to follow-through

Know the next step.

  1. 01

    Describe the site

Provide photographs, stump dimensions if available and access information.

  2. 02

    Define the outcome

Explain the intended use of the space and any wider project requirements.

  3. 03

    Confirm inclusions

Agree on the method, depth, material handling and restoration scope.

  4. 04

    Coordinate completion

Arrange access and check the finished area against the agreed scope.

Common questions

Before you arrange the work.

Does grinding remove all the roots?

Grinding reduces the stump within an agreed area and depth; it does not mean the entire root system has been excavated. Discuss any construction or replanting requirements when defining the scope.

Are cleanup and backfill included?

These must be specified in the estimate. Confirm whether grindings remain, are removed, or are handled as part of a separate restoration scope.

What affects the estimate?

Stump size and number, access, terrain, required depth and material handling all affect the work. The intended finish can add requirements beyond grinding alone.

Can this be coordinated with other tree work?

Yes. Include stump handling when discussing removal or property maintenance so access, scheduling and responsibilities can be planned together.

A clear scope. Coordinated work. A useful maintenance history.
